The White Shingle House

Sixteen-year-old Emily Braddock can’t stand her mother. Ever since her parents divorced and her mother moved them to Minneapolis, she’d been cut off from her dad and everything else that mattered to her. Following a family emergency, Emily decides to take matters into her own hands. She runs away to bring back her father, but unannounced, she finds him in bed with another man. Set at the height of the McCarthy era, The White Shingle House has a fantasy/paranormal edge, while telling the story of a family dealing with the unspeakable during hateful times, and in so doing, underlines the power of love, hope and acceptance in the face of impossibility.
